Chef Moon, owner of Chabaa Thai Bistro, was launching a new concept called Binto—a Thai market and café offering lunch and takeout options. Chabaa Thai was relocating to a larger space next to Binto, and with this move, Chef Moon saw the opportunity to rebrand Chabaa Thai with a more modern, artful, and eye-catching aesthetic.
The original Chabaa logo featured a hibiscus flower bending from a curved stem, rendered in brown on a dull gold background. For the rebrand, Sarah developed a fresh concept by removing the stem, repositioning the hibiscus flower to point upwards, and brightening the gold. The addition of red helped the design pop, creating a vibrant, standout look. Golden brush strokes and rough edges around the logo added a playful touch, while the strong color contrast maintained the feel of an upscale restaurant.
Sarah also designed menus, signage, business cards, promo cards, posters, and ads to support the reopening of the new space.
